Meet Dr. Chris Pan
Chris Pan, M.D., has earned a remarkable reputation as an interventional cardiologist, not only for his dedication to patient care but also for his passion for advancing cardiovascular medicine.
Moreover, as a physician who is triple board-certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, and nuclear cardiology, he is able to both accurately diagnose and effectively treat complex heart conditions. In addition, he employs medical therapies alongside advanced catheter-based procedures, such as stents and balloons, to deliver comprehensive, cutting-edge care.
Dr. Pan's Education
Dr. Chris Pan’s journey in medicine began at the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), where he earned a combined bachelor's and master's degree in biology. Afterward, he continued his education at Tufts University School of Medicine in Boston, MA, where he obtained both his medical degree and an MBA, blending his clinical expertise with a strategic approach to healthcare.
Next, Dr. Pan completed his internship and residency in internal medicine at UC Irvine Medical Center. Afterward, he advanced his training through fellowships in cardiovascular medicine and interventional cardiology, where he also served as chief fellow. Furthermore, his outstanding achievements were formally recognized with honors, including an award from the American College of Cardiology (ACC) and the Excellence in Cardiology Fellowship Award.
Dedication to Excellence
After his training, Dr. Pan became an attending physician and associate fellowship program director at UC Irvine Medical Center before continuing his medical practice in Long Beach.
Known by his former UCI colleagues as the "Energizer Bunny" for his sharp focus and boundless energy, Dr. Pan is deeply committed to educating his patients about heart disease and guiding them through lifestyle changes that promote long-term heart health. Even with a demanding practice, Dr. Pan stays active in academia, regularly delivering lectures to cardiology fellows and internal medicine residents.
Outside of Medicine
When he's not in clinic, Dr. Pan enjoys snowboarding, rock climbing, exploring entrepreneurship, and experiencing different cultures. He is fluent in English, Mandarin Chinese, and Taiwanese. He is currently accepting new patients at PCA’s adult cardiac clinic in Long Beach.
