Meet Dr. Chen

Cheng-Han Chen, M.D., Ph.D., F.A.C.C., F.S.C.A.I., is a widely respected cardiologist specializing in invasive and interventional cardiology. He is exceptionally credentialed in his field, holding multiple board certifications in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, nuclear cardiology, and adult echocardiography.

Dr. Cheng-Han Chen’s Education

Dr. Chen boasts a remarkable educational background. He earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Materials Science and Engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) in Cambridge, Massachusetts. He went on to obtain his M.D. from from the University of California, San Diego (UCSD), and his Ph.D. in Bioengineering from the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). His internship, residency, and general cardiology fellowship were also completed at UCLA. Subsequently, Dr. Chen pursued an interventional cardiology fellowship at Columbia University Medical Center-New York Presbyterian Hospital, where he received advanced training in structural heart disease and played a pivotal role in several significant TAVR clinical trials.

Dedication to Excellence

Dr. Chen has presented his research findings at multiple prominent national and international conferences, such as the American Heart Association (AHA), the American College of Cardiology (ACC), and Transcatheter Cardiovascular Therapeutics (TCT). He has authored numerous manuscripts and book chapters focusing on interventional cardiology and cardiac stem cell research. Before joining PCA in 2017, Dr. Chen was a faculty member at Columbia University Medical Center.In addition to his clinical expertise, Dr. Chen has a background in medical device engineering, having contributed significantly to the development of the Endeavor and Resolute drug-eluting coronary stents during his tenure at Medtronic. He is also fluent in Mandarin, allowing him to provide personalized care to his Mandarin-speaking patients.Dr. Chen serves as the Medical Director of PCA’s Structural Heart Disease Program, where he has been instrumental in driving the program’s vision and success. Dr. Chen’s leadership and dedication have solidified his reputation as a trailblazer in advancing the future of heart disease treatment.
