HoHai Van, M.D., F.A.C.C., F.S.C.A.I., is a highly esteemed invasive-interventional cardiologist, possessing board certifications in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology, and nuclear cardiology.

Dr. HoHai Van's Education

Dr. Van’s journey in medicine began at Duke University, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Biomedical Engineering. Continuing his pursuit of excellence, he obtained his medical degree from the University of Arizona in Tucson. He then completed his internship and residency at Stanford University, thereafter, advancing into the field of cardiology by completing his fellowship at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, where he was appointed chief fellow in the division of cardiology, exhibiting his leadership and commitment to the field. Subsequently, he returned to Stanford University, where he sharpened his skills by completing a fellowship in interventional cardiology.

With a wealth of expertise and a dedication to providing exceptional patient care, Dr. Van’s credentials underscore his proficiency and commitment to excellence. His academic achievements have earned him numerous awards and distinctions from both his undergraduate and medical alma maters. Furthermore, his contributions to cardiovascular research are evident through his publications in multiple highly respected cardiology journals and his involvement in various research projects.

Dr. Van specializes in percutaneous interventions for coronary artery disease, structural/valvular heart disease, and peripheral vascular disease, employing a comprehensive approach to cardiovascular care. Proficient in coronary procedures using both transfemoral and transradial approaches, he ensures that patients receive cutting-edge treatments tailored to their individual needs.

Since joining PCA in 2009, Dr. Van’s dedication and expertise eventually propelled him to the role of Medical Director, culminating in his advancement to President in 2023. Additionally, he holds distinguished positions as the Assistant Medical Director at Optum Health, and the Cath Lab Director at Placentia-Linda Hospital, further solidifying his leadership in healthcare.
